Implant Supported Dentures
In the past few years it has become easier and less expensive to have implants placed in edentulous areas (areas of missing teeth) in order to support a clip on type denture that is much more stable than standard dentures. Most patients report excellent abiltiy to eat and function with these types of dentures. The first stage is have the implants placed in the jaw, and then after healing precise impressions and models of the jaws and are taken and sent to a laboratory for precise fitting of the clip assembly that will hold the denture in place. The attachments are then fitted into a full or partial denture for the final appliance. Dentures will now snap into place, making eating and speaking more natural and comfortable.
